What is HBCS Waiver Support
Agency With Choice is a collaborative service model where people and families help select, schedule, and guide staff, while we handle the employer-of-record responsibilities—hiring, training, payroll, and compliance—so supports are both flexible and dependable.
We work as a team to create stability, teach skills, and celebrate progress. We prioritize valued roles within family and community, ensuring supports strengthen relationships and build true membership.

How to Access AWC
Referrals and enrollment are managed through DDS Service Coordinators. To explore the Agency With Choice option, families should contact their DDS Service Coordinator.
Eligibility for Agency With Choice
To qualify for the Agency With Choice (AWC) model in Massachusetts, an individual must meet the following criteria:
· Be eligible for DDS services
· Be age 18-22 or older
· Live in Southeast Region and be served by a DDS Area Office
· Want greater choice and shared management of staff
