MCB – Dual-Diagnosis Program
The Nemasket Group MCB Dual-Diagnosis program assists individuals who are blind or visually impaired and have a diagnosis of an intellectual disability in managing their own services with greater choice and control. Similar to the Agency With Choice model, this program allows people to help select, schedule, and participate in the direction of their support staff, while we handle the employer-related responsibilities such as hiring, payroll, training, background checks, and quality oversight.
Through self-direction, individuals can design supports that help them build skills, increase independence, and participate actively in their homes and communities.
Eligibility for the MCB Dual-Diagnosis program
To qualify for MCB supports, an individual must:
- Have a dual-diagnosis (intellectual disability and vision impairment)
- Must provide medical documentation confirming visual acuity of 20/200 or less in the better eye with best correction, or a field of vision no greater than 20 degree.
